Emergency Eyewash

In all areas where there is risk of damage to eyes or eyesight, there is a need for Eye Wash Stations to be available.

The source of danger may be from particles such as dust, splinters or filings; from chemical exposure such as splashes or mists, or from flashes such as explosions, welding etc.

Eye Wash Stations may be “plumbed in” where a clean water supply is available. However this solution can be expensive to install, and relies on the water being there. In areas away from the city this may not be the case.

An eyewash station must be quick, simple and safe to use. And it is very important that even a temporarily blinded person can locate it and identify it as the eyewash.

Another factor which may be important is that these bottles can readily be transported with the patient as medical assistance is sought.
